Situated in South West Cambridge,  just off Barton Road,  Downing College Sports Ground is where Magpies 2001 play their home games.

Barton Road is just off the ring road to the south west of Cambridge. Grantchester Road is a turn off Barton Road just a few hundred yards inside the city boundary. Coming from the M11 turn off at Junction 12 and Grantchester Road is a turn on the right about half a mile along, and about two hundred yards after Gough Way on the left. Coming from Cambridge follow the ring road to the Newnham roundabout and turn off to the left. Follow the road round a ninety degree bend to the right and then take the second left after the Hat and Feathers public house. The entrance to the ground is on the left, just after the turn on the right for Cambridge Rugby Club.  The pavillion is just inside the turn, and the pitch runs north-south. In the winter, the sun can affect the goalkeeper in the north goal. The ground is enclosed, but only by hedges so when the wind is strong it can affect play somewhat.
